Rolex Submariner 5513 Maxi Dial (from 1982)

Vintage 1982 Rolex Submariner, reference "5513".

The most sought-after model : no date and with maxi indices, known as "Maxi Dial."

40 mm diameter, automatic mechanical movement.

A collector's grail, the case has never been polished, as evidenced by :

The dial is a Lemrich dial, one of Rolex's four dial makers, known for the depth and smoothness of its paint.

The markers' patina is stunning : this vanilla color adapts to the situation and shows various shades depending on the lighting.

Another highlight of this watch is the Superdome plexiglass, which adds character. Notably, during the time, especially for the 5513 with Mark IV and Mark V dials, you could get the Submariner 5513 with a Superdome T19, also used for the Sea-Dweller, instead of the standard 5513 Dome.

As for its insert, its rare and sought-after bluish-gray patina is highly desirable among collectors.

This watch has been worn and shows signs of wear on the insert and case (especially on the brushed lugs), but that's what makes it wearable and not just a museum piece locked away in a safe :-)
